Who here loves the Godfather series? As far as I’m concerned it’s a classic. Old, but still as good as any movies that come out today. So I was feeling a little nostalgic today and decided to put together a quick list of little known but fun Godfather facts. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did compiling them.
1 One Of The Godfather Actors Went For A Ride Along With Real Mafia Enforcers

The Godfather series centers around the Corleone family, and mainly the life and dealings of Micheal Corleone. At first he was a loner, preferring to make his own way in the world. But fate forced him into the family business, which was the Mafia. However, in the Godfather movie Michael Corleone didn’t wear a hat until he became involved in the family business. The only time he wore a hat before then was when he was in his military uniform.
5 Marlon Brando Didn’t Memorize His Godfather Lines
Part of the business of acting is memorizing your lines. Of course people forget things and make mistakes, and when that happens they usually ad-lib, or if that fails, do the entire scene over again. But those working with Marlon Brando didn’t have to worry about him messing up his lines. He had that covered rather uniquely.
Marlon Brando didn’t memorize any of his lines in the Godfather film. He read all of his lines off cue cards.
6 The Godfather Set Three Oscars Firsts
When the Godfather won the best picture Oscar it set three amazing firsts. The Godfather was the first winner of best picture for an Academy Award that had an Oscar statue visible in it. It the first Oscar winner to portray the movie industry, and it was the first to be even partly based in LA.

If you watch the legendary God Father series and see oranges in a scene, a death or a very close call is coming up soon. Production designer Dean Tavoularis claims this was just a coincidence as the oranges were used to brighten up a darkly shot film.
Even if it is only a coincidence, it actually happens.
