I’m not so sure if this would have been fumy or sexually exciting, simply because of who this is about, but… Whoopi Goldberg was a phone sex operator. I’m not kidding with this one. Before she was famous, the star of movies such as Ghost and Sister Act was a part time operator for sex chat lines.

While the magazines were often viewed as being gutter trash, and socially unacceptable, aroused young men picked them up with gusto, if they could. Now remember we said that they had ads? A good portion of the ads were for another service related to sex called sex chat lines. You could call a number and talk dirty with a stranger for a cost. Think of it as a primitive webcam sex session, l only with words. So yeah, you needed an imagination. While they are a fading industry and memory today thanks to the internet, at one point they were extremely popular. So popular in fact that even Whoopi Goldberg worked as a phone sex operator. But why?
Whoopi revealed her sordid past during a segment on The View. The hosts were discussing the number of mothers who were taking on the job due to the benefits and pay, and whether it was appropriate or not for them to do so. According to reports, there had been an increase of up to 400 percent of mothers who earned a living with this type of employment. It was during the discussion that Whoppi piped up saying that she used to be a phone sex operator. She said that they pay and benefits was good, and it allowed mothers to work and spend time with their children. Obviously it’s a job that Whoopi wouldn’t be able to have again. Her voice would be instantly recognizable.
So there you have it. While it’s a profession (if you can call it that) that is becoming extinct, there is still a call for the use of imagination when it comes to sex. So if you’re a woman looking for some safe, but dirty fun, give it a try. The benefits sound good. Plus, if a nun could do the job, I’m guessing that anyone could.
